It is celebrated annually on the 14th night of the dark fortnight in the Hindu month of Phalguna (February–March). \nThis auspicious night marks the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and is also believed to be the night when Lord Shiva performed the cosmic dance of creation\, preservation\, and destruction—known as the Tandava.
